Our Studio
Little Lane Studios is a place to create, have fun, form community, and explore!
ABOUT LITTLE LANE
Our first project at Little Lane was transforming the space from a turn of the century carriage house into an art studio through a unique collaboration between Julie Benjamin, Kevin Smith, Moses Grubb, Kasha Speno and many other friends and family. Our aim was to design an environment well-suited for the creation of purposeful art projects. Setting the stage to inspire creativity, our studio became a blend of farmhouse and urban roots. Simple, design-orientated, and functional, Little Lane is playful and encourages imagination and ingenuity.

ABOUT JULIE
Julie Benjamin, Founder
Julie believes a child's perspective and insight into the world bring clarity to what is most important to us and reveals our true humanity. Children have a way of looking at the world and discovering solutions that we have stopped ourselves from seeing. They illuminate possibilities and have the amazing ability to translate the world into a raw, true, and whole-hearted form that we unconditionally connect to.
Julie has had a wealth of experience with children over the last 10 years. She was a core team member at "Stretch the Imagination" for 5 years and loved exploring with the kids through art, yoga, and collaboration. Prior to working at Stretch, Julie taught preschool at Denver Community College, Bright Star Academy in Rhode Island, and at Headstart across New Mexico and Colorado. She graduated from Mt. Holyoke College with a degree in Studio Art and has studied child development and communication extensively. She has traveled to Reggio Emilia, Italy to study their renowned early child development philosophies and utilizes their values in her own practice.
A lifelong learner and explorer, Julie loves experiencing new cultures through travel and brings these influences into her teaching. Paper arts, collage, colors, sticks, rocks, post-it notes you name it she loves to create with it.
Julie is an amazing artist, passionate about children, and dedicated to creating a sustainable future for all generations.
Kristina Ohlson, Founder Kick Start
Julie's ability to meet her teaching goals without limiting the kids' imagination, ideas, or creativity is a truly beautiful balance of subtle technique, flexibility, patience, and genuine love for the honesty of kids' unjaded world view.
Kasha Speno
Thank you so much for use of your lovely space. It was conducive to creative thought and was part of our "inspiration" for the day. The materials were accessible and allowed us to express our individual sensibilities in a safe, supportive way. Thanks!!
